Police Restore Calm on Capitol Hill Following Tense Protest
Tensions flared on Capitol Hill earlier today as police officers fired tear gas to disperse protesters, including Representatives Yekeh Kolubah and Frank Saah Foko.
The situation escalated when one police officer was reportedly beaten by protesters, who also allegedly took away the officer’s weapon.
Several protesters were arrested and remain in police custody, while an injured protester was taken for medical attention.
Following the intervention, normal traffic and business activities around the Capitol Building have been restored. Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
