President Boakai Makes First Road Trip to Foya, Lofa for Christmas Celebration
Lofa County, Liberia: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has arrived in Lofa County to celebrate the 2025 Christmas season. He was received by large crowds of residents who gathered along the route to welcome him.
This visit marks President Boakai’s first trip to Lofa County by road since assuming office. In contrast, his earlier visit to the county was by air, when he flew in and landed. On this occasion, the President traveled by road in his presidential convoy, moving from Salayea through major districts to Foya.
Citizens from across the county, including areas as far as Foya, lined the main road to welcome the President.
President Boakai is expected to spend Christmas Day in Foya District One.
He was welcomed by House Speaker Richard Koon, Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah, and the President’s Special Political Adviser, along with other local and national officials.
During the journey, the President made stops at the bridge separating Bong and Lofa counties, Salayea District, Zorzor, and Voinjama, where he spent the night before continuing to Foya the following morning.
The Ministry of Public Works ensured that the road along the President’s route was well graded, with pavement works continuing in sections along the corridor.
