President Boakai Secures Major Development Promises, Including Two Over Head Bridge Project, for Liberia's Future

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has returned from Indonesia and China after attending the Indonesia-Africa Summit and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

What seems to be a repeat in History was display at the Robert’s international airport when several government officials gathered at Roberts International Airport (RIA) to welcome President Boakai following his visits to Indonesia and china.

President Boakai and First Lady Kartumu Boakai made a brief stop at Effort Baptist Church in Paynesville, where he delivered an official statement about.

Outlining Development Package for Liberia, he disclosed the debt waiver of 6.6m by China, 13m loan for agriculture equipment and massive renovation and expansion of State Radio, ELBC to ensure that it effectively covers the entire Country.

During his remarks, President Boakai highlighted the upcoming construction of the overhead bridge project that will connect Bu-Lo-Vard to 540, from 12 street to Barnesville junction.

 

 He noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping has made several commitments to improving Liberia’s infrastructure, including county roads and federal roads.

Also, President Boakai mentioned that Indonesian President Joko Wedodo has pledged to support the government’s ARREST agenda, particularly in the area of agriculture.

"We await the responses from all these good promises", he noted.

President Boakai also praised Liberians for being resilient over the years despite scores of circumstances.

"Our doors are open to good and honest people ", he maintained.

 

In the wake of the fruitful trips from China and Indonesia of which the people are excited about, they are also hopeful of the practical implementation for the Country in the coming months and years ahead. He Noted

 

According to him, China also promised to make interventions in other key sectors of the Country including Road, Energy and infrastructure development among others.

The Chief Executive renewed his commitment to his people that his government is ready to build a new Liberia stating that a new Liberia is in the making.

 Minister of Justice Cllr. Oswald Tweh also spoke at Effort Baptist Church, highlighting the significant developments brought to Liberia during President Boakai’s term. He expressed gratitude to President Boakai for his trust in him to manage the country in his absence.
