SDA Student James Harris Caught with Drugs in Grand Bassa County

In the wake of Col. Abraham Kromah's ascension to leadership, the quest to combat narcotics has intensified. Recently confirmed by the Liberian Senate and inaugurated into office, Col. Kromah wasted no time in initiating decisive actions. His administration has orchestrated numerous raids on drug ghettos within the confines of Monrovia, aiming to stem the tide of drug trafficking and abuse plaguing the nation.

However, amidst these efforts, a compelling narrative emerged from the LDEA Grand Bassa County Detachment. It revolves around the apprehension of a student found in possession of a significant quantity of narcotics. This gripping tale not only underscores the pervasive nature of the drug epidemic but also highlights the urgency of addressing it at all levels of society.

Under Col. Kromah's leadership, such incidents serve as poignant reminders of the challenges ahead in the fight against drug-related crimes. As the nation grapples with this pressing issue, his administration remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding communities and upholding the rule of law. With concerted efforts and unwavering determination, Liberia strides forward in its pursuit of a drug-free future under the resolute guidance of Col. Abraham Kromah.

The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Grand Bassa County Detachment made headlines once again with the arrest of an 11th-grade student from the Bassa Seventh Day Adventist High School for the second time, on charges of smoking "Kush" in a ghetto area. The arrest, prompted by a tip-off received by Commander Bulster Jolon from a concerned senior elder within the community, sheds light on the pervasive issue of drug abuse among the youth in the area.

Commander Jolon, in addressing the media, emphasized the severity of the situation, noting that this was not the first encounter with the student, identified as James Harris. Despite previous apprehensions and attempts to steer him away from drug use, Harris persisted, leading to his re-arrest.

Acknowledging the invaluable support from the county residents, Commander Jolon extended gratitude for their cooperation and emphasized the importance of community involvement in combating drug-related issues. The collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and the community are essential in addressing the root causes of drug abuse and preventing its escalation among the youth.

Following the arrest, the agency took decisive action by handing Harris over to the school administration. In response, the Principal of Bassa Seventh Day Adventist High School, Rev. Levi Flahnma, commended the bold steps taken by the DEA in addressing drug-related challenges within the county. Flahnma stressed the importance of a unified approach in safeguarding the well-being of students and the broader community against the detrimental effects of substance abuse.

The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the ongoing battle against drug abuse and the need for continuous vigilance and proactive measures to protect the youth and promote a drug-free environment. As authorities continue their efforts to combat drug trafficking and consumption, the support and collaboration of all stakeholders remain crucial in achieving lasting change and ensuring the welfare of future generations.
