Monrovia Liberia-a significant step to improve government transparency and accountability, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., led a ceremony to sign the Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS) contracts and the Code of Conduct at the Executive Mansion.

The event brought together government officials, development partners, diplomats, and civil society representatives, showing wide support for this new initiative aimed at transforming governance.

In his speech, President Boakai explained that the PMCS is an important tool to make government work more efficiently and meet the goals of the country's development plan, called the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).

This system is a major change in how we govern. We have set clear goals for each government ministry and agency, and we will regularly check our progress,” said President Boakai.

The PMCS will help solve long-standing problems in government by setting clear targets, holding officials accountable, and improving public services. It also requires all government leaders to follow the Code of Conduct, which they signed along with the PMCS contracts.

The President stressed that good governance is not just about promises, but about taking action that improves the lives of the Liberian people.

He thanked Liberia’s development partners, especially the UNDP, for their support in making this plan possible.

The ceremony also recognized the efforts of the Cabinet Secretariat and the PMCS Technical Working Group, who have worked hard to move this project forward.

President Boakai urged all government leaders to fully support the new system and called on all Liberians to back the government’s efforts to build a more accountable and inclusive country.

This initiative marks a new chapter in Liberia's governance and promises that the government will work hard to meet the needs and expectations of its people.
