15-Year-Old William Tokpah Battles Eye Cancer—Family Pleads for Help

Monrovia, Liberia: Fifteen-year-old William Tokpah, a bright and determined high school student, is currently fighting a life-threatening battle with eye cancer.

Diagnosed in January of this year, his condition has disrupted his health and also put a painful pause on his dreams of continuing his education.

William's parents, who reside in Kakata, Margibi County, have already spent over 25,000 Liberian dollars on initial medical consultations and minor treatment procedures, but the growing financial burden has now made it nearly impossible for them to continue seeking the urgent care their son desperately needs.

“Since the diagnosis, we’ve done everything we can. But the cost is beyond our means,” William’s mother shared tearfully. “The doctors gave him some early treatment, but without further care, his condition is getting worse. We feel so helpless.”

Due to the severity of the illness and the family's financial constraints, William has been forced to drop out of school, further deepening the emotional toll on this young boy who once dreamt of a bright academic future.

The family is now reaching out to the general public, humanitarian organizations, and anyone with the heart to help. Whether it’s financial support, medical assistance, or simply spreading the word, every effort could bring William one step closer to recovery
