LFA President's Re-election Quest Gets Massive Boost As Former Minister of Youth and Sports Joins the Bandwagon

Monrovia, Liberia: It seems the upcoming election for the presidency of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) will be a smooth ride for LFA current President Mustapha Raji, as his campaign continues to witness an influx of massive support from soccer stakeholders.

Adding to the list of supporters is D. Zeogar Wilson, former Minister of Youth and Sports, who has declared his support for the reelection bid of Raji for what the former MYS boss termed Raji’s massive transformation brought to Liberia’s football sector.

"I endorse the re-election and candidacy of Mustapha I. Raji as LFA President," former Minister Wilson intoned.

Defending his support for Raji’s reelection, Wilson noted that he is a testimony to Raji’s transformative vision, as he has worked closely with the LFA boss for the past six years, highlighting what he considers Raji’s tremendous impact in rebranding the sector.

Former Minister Wilson: “He brought many developments to Liberian soccer through the FIFA Forward program and through his initiative with different soccer federations in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East."

Wilson noted that Raji's dream for the advancement and growth of the game is unmatched.

"I know his passion and love for football development,” Wilson maintained, rallying football stakeholders' support for Raji's reelection bid. He said, “Let's give him one more term to complete his mission."

“The transformation of mini sports stadiums in and around Montserrado and across Liberia with significant milestones in infrastructure for the sector as well as women's football development, including youth and grassroots, are remarkable achievements under the Raji administration, which, if he's given the chance to continue, will mean well for the sector,” he added.

The MYS's former boss entreats football stakeholders to support Raji's continuation as president as the best decision in the interest of the growth and improvements for players and football technicians.

He is of the conviction that Raji's reelection will help transform football across the country, saying, "He has started and is doing very well, and if provided another opportunity, he will do even more."

Raji's leadership is also widely known for the huge training of coaches at all levels, referees, and in-house capacity building of staff, as well as empowerment initiatives.
