Montserrado, Liberia: The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) is expected to break ground for the construction of its new headquarters on April 6, 2026.
The modern facility will be located at the Coast Guard Base in Montserrado County and will consist of a four-story complex building. The project will be supervised by NaFAA Director General, J. Cyrus Saygbe Jr.
Ruth Gbatoe, Media and Communications Officer for the Liberia Sustainable Management of Fisheries Project
The announcement was made by Ruth Gbatoe, Media and Communications Officer for the Liberia Sustainable Management of Fisheries Project, during the official launch of NaFAA’s redesigned website.
NaFAA, a state-owned enterprise responsible for managing Liberia’s fisheries and aquaculture sector, is currently operating on land owned by the National Port Authority (NPA).
However, the construction of the new headquarters will provide the institution with its own permanent facility in Montserrado County, just outside Monrovia.
The development is expected to strengthen the authority’s operations and support the sustainable management of Liberia’s fisheries resources.
