Breaking News: Grand Bassa Set to Receive Yellow Machines as President Boakai Marks Liberia’s 179th Independence

BUCHANAN, Grand Bassa County – K-News has gathered that Grand Bassa County is expected to receive its share of the government’s yellow machines as President Joseph Nyuma Boakai leads activities marking Liberia’s 179th Independence Day celebrations in the county.

The earth-moving equipment is expected to arrive in Buchanan City at 3:00 p.m. today, July 26, 2026, as part of the government’s nationwide infrastructure development initiative.

The distribution of the yellow machines is being coordinated by Brownie J. Samukai, Executive Chairperson and National Coordinator of the Special Presidential Project Coordinating Committee (SPPCC). President Boakai appointed Samukai to oversee the nationwide deployment, management, maintenance, and accountability of the equipment.

Samukai is currently in Buchanan, where he joined President Boakai and other government officials at the 179th Independence Thanksgiving and Intercessory Prayer Service held at the First United Methodist Church.

Meanwhile, River Gee County’s convoy of earth-moving equipment is steadily making its way to the county, a day after Grand Gedeh County received its allocation under the government’s nationwide yellow machines distribution program.

K-News understands that the arrival of the equipment in Buchanan will mark another phase of the government’s effort to expand road construction and infrastructure development across Liberia.
