From Setback to Revival: Pogba Wins Global Soccer Best Comeback Award
DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: France International midfielder Paul Pogba's professional football career has gained a boost after winning the Best Comeback Award at the 2025 Global Soccer Awards in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
Pogba's football journey was given a powerful recognition of resilience after facing a four-year ban from football activities. The Frenchman, at Juventus, was initially suspended in September 2023 after testing positive during a random anti-doping check.
He was later handed a four-year ban in February 2024. However, after months of legal review, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled partially in his favor, reducing the ban to 18 months.
Paul Pogba went off the football scene, grappling with the trauma. The punishment came as the darkest period of his career.
Many thought the 32-year-old had lost rhythm on his tactical plays, including his tricky through passes, play-making, body bounce, and strength that he possessed.
Pogba marked his return to the pitch in late November 2025, after more than two years out of action for both club and country, with impressive form.
Despite his prolonged absence, Pogba hit the pitch running with his new club, AS Monaco, making a meaningful impact. Although he has not recorded a goal or an assist, Pogba has played 3 matches, giving 33 crucial passes and winning 3 tackles.
His quick adaptability to the pitch made him the favorite to win the Global Soccer Best Coach Comeback Award on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Dubai.
The award marked a revival of Pogba's professional career. It also highlights his determination and unflinching ab
ilities in the game.
