Kemokai Rejects Political Pressure, Maintains Neutrality After Exit from Youth Advisory Council
Monrovia, Liberia: Alphia Faith Kemokai has reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to youth development and democratic leadership following her well-planned resignation from the National Youth Advisory Council to President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr.
In a public clarification issued this week, Kemokai explained that her decision to step down was thoughtful, timely, and guided by principle. Appointed to the Council on October 11, 2024, she formally submitted her resignation in October 2025, with its effective date set for December 31, 2025, ensuring a smooth transition and uninterrupted work of the advisory body.
Kemokai described her service on the Council as an honor and emphasized that her departure should be seen not as withdrawal from youth engagement, but as an example of responsible leadership. She praised the National Youth Advisory Council as a vital platform for elevating young voices in high-level decision-making and expressed gratitude to President Boakai and stakeholders for creating such a space.
Currently serving as Program Manager of the Young Political Leadership School Africa, Kemokai continues to work across governance, leadership, and civic engagement, mentoring young people within and beyond Liberia. She reiterated her non-partisan stance, stressing that neutrality, integrity, and trust remain central to her professional work across political and civic institutions.
Addressing recent public speculation, Kemokai dismissed claims linking her resignation to political party influence, noting that such allegations were legally addressed and later withdrawn with an apology. She commended responsible journalism and thanked those who stood for truth and fairness.
Kemokai also congratulated the newly appointed member of the National Youth Advisory Council, wishing her wisdom and courage as she takes up the role.
As Liberia enters the new year, Kemokai extended a message of peace, purpose, and renewed commitment to building a stronger future for the nation’s youth, reaffirming that her dedication to youth empowerment and democratic participation remains steadfast.
