Liberia Joins Global Tourism Leaders at UN Tourism Assembly in Saudi Arabia
Liberia joins 160 nations at the UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh to discuss sustainable tourism and AI-powered growth for global cooperation.

The high-level meeting brings together ministers, senior officials, and private sector representatives to discuss ways to boost global cooperation for sustainable tourism.
Liberia’s delegation is led by Presidential Special Envoy on Tourism, Ambassador Christopher Hayes-Onanuga and ministry of Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister Jerolinmek Matthew Piah
The event, themed “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future,” marks 50 years of UN Tourism. It is jointly hosted by the United Nations and the Government of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb emphasized that tourism remains a major driver of jobs, business growth, and cultural connection under the country’s Vision 2030 plan.
UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili described the gathering as a milestone to make tourism a “force for sustainability, opportunity, and shared prosperity.”
