LPRC has dismissed Coach Mouctar Fofana
Monrovia, Liberia: Liberia Football Association First Division Club LPRC Oilers has announced the immediate termination of its contract with Head Coach Mouctar Fofana.
The decision to part ways with Coach Fofana comes just a few days after the LPRC Oilers suffered a defeat to Invincible Eleven in the First Division league.
In a statement issued on its official Facebook page on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, the club explained that the decision followed careful consideration of Coach Fofana's contract.
Although the club did not specify the reasons for his termination, many speculate it is linked to the team's recent poor performance in both the First Division League and the Orange Cup.
The LPRC Oilers, who started the season as major title contenders, currently sit in 8th place with 21 points on the league table.
They have not won in their last three league games, with two losses and one draw. Additionally, under Coach Fofana's leadership, the team was eliminated from this season's Orange Cup with a 3-0 defeat to Watanga FC.
Coach Fofana, who signed a two-year contract with the Oilers, has only been with the team for nearly a season.
The LPRC Oilers will now go into the market to search for a new head coach to help guide the team as they continue their campaign in the Liberia Football Association First Division.
In its statement, the club expressed gratitude to Coach Fofana for his contributions and time spent with them.
"After careful consideration, the club has decided to terminate his contract with immediate effect. We sincerely thank Coach Fofana for his contributions and dedication during his tenure, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors," the LPRC Oilers said.
