New Rule Blocks 1st, 2nd Division Players from Participating in County Meet.
Monrovia, Liberia: The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Liberia Football Association have reached a new agreement stopping 1st and 2nd division players from taking part in the National County Sports Meet.
Under the new rule, county teams must field at least ten homegrown players. Officials say the rule will be strictly enforced, with no exceptions.
Sources say both institutions are fully aligned on the decision.
The move is aimed at giving more opportunities to young talents from across Liberia’s counties who have not been getting chances to play.
MYS and LFA have agreed that there will be no 1st and 2nd Division Players playing in County Meet.
2) The law on “fielding at least 10 Homegrown players on county teams” in the County Meet will be fully implemented. There will be no exceptions.
