Police: Alleged Kidnapping Was False, Amie Dean Arrested

Monrovia, Liberia: Police have confirmed that the reported kidnapping of Amie T. Dean was not true.

Police spokesperson Sam Collins said Dean admitted she made up the story. She is now in police custody and has been charged with raising a false alarm.

The case started on April 2, 2026, when Dean was reported missing. She had told a friend she got into a black car with unknown men.

Days later, she reappeared and claimed she had been kidnapped, but police investigations later found that her story was false.
