Senate to debate the establishment of the war and economic crimes court next Tuesday.
Monrovia-The Senate pro-temp Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence has broken silence on the establishment of the war and economic crimes court following the submission of the resolution from the House of Representatives.
According to Grand Bassa County lawmaker, the senate is taking into consideration the concerns of the public as it relates to the resolution forwarded to the body from the House of Representatives during the first quarter of the 55th National legislature.
Pro-temp Karnga Lawrence stressed that the culture of impunity in Liberia has been a long-standing issue, adding that the elders of lands are keen on taking the appropriate steps.
At the same time, the joint committee is expected to have hoslitic advice for the senate next Tuesday.
Delivering her message during the opening of the special session in the chamber of the Liberian senate on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the President of the Women Legislative caucus revealed that the leadership of the senate has name the committee on Defense, security, intelligence and veteran Affairs and judiciary, claims and petitions as the most productive committees in the first quarter.
 According to her, the committees have been very proactive in the discharge of their assigned duties, and they will be awarded legally and accordingly.
