Suspect Returned from Sierra Leone, Charged with Murder of Paynesville Woman

The Liberia National Police has charged Augustine Lendeh, commonly known as “T-Boy,” with murder in connection with the death of Oretha Paye in the Omega Old Field Community, Paynesville.
According to the police charge sheet, the alleged incident occurred on July 29, 2026, at about 8:15 p.m. Police say Oretha Paye was later discovered approximately 26 feet from the residence of the accused, with multiple injuries and showing no signs of life.
Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the victim’s mother, Alice Flomo, told investigators that her daughter had gone to the residence of Augustine Lendeh to retrieve her personal clothing but failed to return home.
Investigators further stated that the accused and the victim had a history of alleged violence, with a previous assault incident reportedly forming part of the evidence reviewed during the investigation.
Following the incident, Augustine Lendeh reportedly fled Liberia and was later arrested in neighboring Sierra Leone.
The Sierra Leone Police Eastern Region subsequently handed him over to Liberian authorities, where he was taken into custody and charged.
Lendeh has been charged with Murder, in violation of Section 14.1 of Liberia’s New Penal Law, and has been forwarded to court for prosecution.
The Liberia National Police says the matter remains before the court and will be handled in accordance with Liberia’s laws.
