Unity Party Chairman Tarpeh Addresses UP Job Seekers’ Concerns

The search for jobs among local UP partisans continues to intensify daily. Unity Party supporters regularly gather at their party headquarters seeking the attention of the party chairman, eager to know when they, as local partisans, will receive their share of the national opportunities.

Several UP supporters have expressed feelings of neglect due to the slow pace of appointments.

Upon his return from Ghana, Chairman Tarpeh visited the UP party headquarters to address journalists regarding the utilization of the inaugural fund. However, he was greeted by over 200 Unity Party supporters, chanting political slogans and praising him to draw attention to their pressing question: Why have they not yet secured jobs?

Speaking to over 200 UP partisans at their party headquarters on Crown Hill, Chairman Tarpeh highlighted several challenges the UP government faced after taking over. He emphasized that President Boakai wants to appoint individuals capable of leading and eventually employing loyal UP members to efficiently run the Liberian government.

In a somber tone, Rev. Tarpeh reassured partisans that he harbors no resentment towards local UP members eagerly seeking job opportunities. He acknowledged their steadfast support during the campaign period, despite lucrative offers from other parties.

 

“Am not angry to see all of you asking for what you have Labour  for but you have to wait let the president appoint people to high position before coming to Local people” Chairman Tarpeh said.

Meanwhile, Chairman Tarpeh emphasized that his official duties will commence once all officials are in place and ready to fulfill their roles. He pledged to utilize his chairmanship power to facilitate opportunities for local partisans, ensuring their engagement in meaningful work with integrity.

 Rev. Luther Tarpeh has spoken about the challenges of forming the government, emphasizing the complexity of the task facing the president. He noted that the president is tasked with appointing approximately 10,000 individuals.

Chairman Tarpeh, addressed concerns regarding the allocation of funds intended for the inaugural celebration in all 73 districts. He clarified that the funds were utilized for internal purposes, as per the party's discretion.

In a press conference attended by prominent journalists, Chairman Tarpeh presented a detailed report compiled from statements provided by the chairpersons of each district. This investigative report shed light on the transparent use of the inaugural funds across the country.

 

Tarpeh emphasized that upon distribution to the district chairpersons, the funds were utilized according to the needs and priorities of each locality. He asserted that he did not dictate how the funds should be spent, emphasizing his lack of personal gain from the allocated funds.

Breaking down the numbers for clarity, Tarpeh explained that each district received $5,000, totaling $365,000 for all 73 districts. He reiterated that not a single cent of this amount was misappropriated for personal gain.

Despite baseless allegations, the Unity Party reaffirmed its commitment to upholding due process in fund management, underscoring its integrity and dedication to responsible governance.
