For Frozen Chicken, Man Allegedly Beats Friend to Death In Bong County- Latest Liberian News

MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police, Bong County Detachment, has charged and sent to court a man identified as Edward Dolo for allegedly killing a Guinean national Togbah Golomu in Bellemue Town, Panta District.

According to the report, victim Golomu met his demise on Wednesday, April 19 in Bellemue town after Dolo allegedly beat him on a nearby farm in the area.

The Police Crimes Services Division (CSD) Commander John Kellenso Flomo told newsmen Tuesday that Dolo was on Friday, April 21 apprehended by state security officers following a call from some local authorities of Panta District, Bong County.

Mr. Flomo said the LNP independent investigation coupled with the fifteen men jury reports and the eyewitness narratives have so far established that the victim was allegedly assaulted by Dolo, the accused killer.

Flomo said all of the witnesses on the scene testified that the two men (defendant and the deceased) were embroiled in a bloody fistfight after he (the defendant) accused the deceased of eating the frozen chicken he had earlier asked the deceased to cook for him at the cane-juice production station.

The witnesses, the police noted, told them that the victim cried bitterly during the fight and begged for mercy but the defendant refused to pardon him and kept beating on him until his death.

“The three witnesses that were on the scene of the incident confirmed that they both had a fistfight and the victim was crying but the defendant refused to let go the frozen chicken issue as he kept flogging victim Togbah Golomu,” the Police said.

The alleged perpetrator, Dolo, who police said had previously admitted to his action, somersaulted, and denied his involvement in Togbah’s death.

Meanwhile, the Bong County Detachment of the LNP has formerly charged defendant Dolo and forwarded to the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Gbarnga awaiting trial.
