Opposition ALP Endorses Pres. Weah Second Term Bid Ahead of Run-off Election
Weah Second Term Bid Ahead
Monrovia – After being in the opposition and strongly condemning President George Weah and his government of massive corruption, and secret killings resulting in unbearable suffering for the Liberian people, the political leader of the All Liberian Party (ALP), Benoni Urey on Sunday afternoon led a handful of its members including Henry Costa, and Telia Urey and endorse the second-term bid of President George Weah and Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in the November 14 run-off election.
Making remarks, Urey assured Pres. Weah of his party’s commitment to ensure that he is elected for the second term. He claimed that the move to support the CDC’s reelection follows consultations with executives contrary to claims that the endorsement was done by a few groups of people in the ALP.
“Today, I have been granted the privilege to inform you, Mr. President, that the All Liberian Party endorses your bid for a second term. We want to assure you that today’s endorsement is not just an ordinary one; it is an endorsement from our hearts,” he said.
