Heaven Eleven Hits Top Five, Defeats Jubilee 2-0

The slow torture of a fine coach and a good man was finally called to a halt at the Samuel Kayon Doe practice pitch on Tuesday afternoon.

Heaven Eleven forced their way past Jubilee FC into the top five of the Orange First Division League as the supporters danced and roared, the club’s overwhelmed Director of Football Melvin George threw off the ropes that have bound him and leaped down from the rack and put himself in the driving seat.

Jubilee FC began to settle into the game but just before half an hour had elapsed, Heaven Eleven came within an ace of taking the lead when Moses Cooper sent in a killer pass for Aaron Halie but denied by Jubilee’s goalkeeper.

A testing cross from the right from David Peter was only half cleared and Michel Komba pounced on inside the eighteen-yard area and corrected the Jubilee FC goalkeeper’s mistake to put Heaven Eleven in front with his left foot drive.

Heaven Eleven thought they had scored for the second time twenty-five minutes into the second halftime when Moses Cooper curled a shot in off the underside of the crossbar but an assistant’s flag was raised immediately for an earlier offside against Cooper. A sense of frustration began to pervade the excitement.

A minute later, Coach Fofana’s side was ahead for the second time when Prince Kofi drilled a low ball across the goal from the left and Augustine Dayougar swung wildly at it with his right foot.

Jegbay Konneh, Liberia’s young jewel had a quiet game in Heaven Eleven midfield he had a golden chance to drag his team lead but did not make use of his chances.

The victory moved Heaven Eleven into the top five on the fourteen-team log with thirty points from nineteen league matches
