13-Year-Old Accidentally Cuts 9-Year-Old foot in Grand Kru

Grand Kru, Liberia: A sad incident happened in Pronoken, Grand Kru County District #1, when a 9-year-old boy identified as CJ was seriously injured on his foot after being accidentally cut with a cutlass by a 13-year-old boy, Jayce Boye.
The incident happened around 1:00 PM in their yard. According to community members, Jayce was using the cutlass and warned CJ to stay away. CJ moved away at first but later came back while Jayce still had the cutlass raised, leading to the accident.
People in the community described the incident as accidental and said there was no intention to harm the child.
Members of the Child Welfare and Protection Forum of Liberia (CWFL) quickly took the injured boy to a nearby clinic for treatment. He is currently receiving medical care.
The incident has raised concern among residents about child safety and the use of dangerous tools around children.
Meanwhile, Jayce Boye was seen crying after the incident and said he did not mean to hurt the child.
