CDC Chopper Arrested with Pre-Marked Ballot Papers In Lofa

LOFA: Reports reaching K-NEWS say a chopper believed to be owned by the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) of President George Weah has been arrested by residents of Foya, Lofa County.

Knewsonline source said the chopper landed in the county during the early night hours trying to criminally stuff the election process in favor of the ruling party.

According to reports, minutes after being arrested by the citizens, there came a call from President George Weah confirming from the pilot (name unknown) to know the status of the alleged marked ballot papers.

The Pilot replied in frustration; “It has landed Mr. President but it is in the hands of the police now,” residents on the scene told K-NEWS.

Addressing reporters during its regular elections press briefing on Monday, the head of the National Elections Commission, Davidetta Browne Lansanah says it is yet to receive official complaints about the situation. She said, the NEC is not aware of any marked ballot paper in favor of any party but that it will act accordingly when such complaints reach their office.

However, Knewsonline has gathered that the consignment was brought into the county by the CDC intended to thwart the decision of the electorates and it is currently in the custody of the Liberia National Police in Lofa County.

Keep posted as Knewsonline.com digs deeper into the matter and provides you with more details.
