Coach Kaykay blames Defeat Against Barrolle to Players' Indiscipline
FC Kallon-Liberia Coach Emmanuel Kaykay says his team's lack of substitute bench and some players indiscipline are seriously hammering the progress of the club.
But despite the difficulties faced by the club, Coach Kaykay has promised to safe the club from relegation despite continuous challenges.
The FC Kallon-Liberia Coach was speaking on Sunday, February 11, 2024 after the team's 4-1 defeat to the Rollers of Mighty Barrolle at the SKD Practice Pitch in continuation of the LFA First division league.
"Today, we only had one goalkeeper, and prior to this match, I spoke to the President about the ongoing challenges, but he is yet to listen".
"There are many players who are not willing to take instruction and their attitude is not helping the club which and so we need to take serious stance against them to safe the image of the club".
The defeat leaves FC Kallon-Liberia in relegation zone with 16 points from 17matches and they are a point away from safety.
Star Captain Mark Yallah put FC Kallon-Liberia ahead in the early minutes from the spot but a Nuch Zohn brace, and a goal each from Jack Blemah and Clement Zubah were enough as the "Rollers" cut Watanga FC lead to two points and moved 2nd place with 34points.
Commenting on the match, Coach Kaykay said poor goalkeeping also played a major role despite series of missed chances and players' failure to put in their best.
"Like I said earlier, there are players that needed to be substituted but we don't have bench. Nothing different I could do to turn things around'.
"Though the transfer window has closed, there are free agent players we can still bring on board to safe the season, Coach Kaykay said".
The former Barrack Young Controllers coach said this is the first time for him to have lost three straight matches in the top flight of Liberian football.
"I have never experienced this in my coaching career in the 1st division league. Losing three straight matches is a serious concern. Though it is not my fault but I will help to solve the problems".
"I have setup the system only for the players to play by the given instruction and work with the president to also restore the in-depth challenges. But trust me, we are going to get at least a draw or win in our next match against Watanga, Coach Kaykay narrated".
