Dr. Omar stated that the timing of his visit coincided with communication from the former ruling party, now known as Congress for Democratic Change. However, he emphasized that the visit had been scheduled long before these events.

"First, we are here to officially congratulate the President and the people of Liberia on this significant transition. Second, we are here to reaffirm ECOWAS's support for Liberia in its nation-building efforts. Third, during my visit to Nairobi, I informed the Deputy Minister about my official visit to Liberia. If my visit happens to coincide with communications from the former party, it is purely coincidental," said the ECOWAS President.

During the meeting, Dr. Omar reaffirmed ECOWAS's support for Liberia. Key topics included economic development, democratic consolidation, peace, and security. Dr. Omar also congratulated President Boakai and the people of Liberia on their transition.

Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana confirmed that President Boakai assured the ECOWAS delegation that there was no connection between his administration and recent political issues. She highlighted President Boakai's commitment to peace and fairness for all political actors.

Its key duties include facilitating trade through a common market, enhancing regional infrastructure, and supporting economic development projects.

It also plays a crucial role in maintaining peace and security by mediating conflicts and deploying peacekeeping missions. Additionally, ECOWAS focuses on social and cultural integration, addressing issues such as health and education, and fostering mutual understanding among member states.

By working collaboratively, ECOWAS aims to strengthen regional stability, boost economic growth, and improve the overall quality of life in West Africa.
