“Exercise caution regarding misleading information about ongoing investigations and asset declarations,” warns the LACC

Monrovia, Liberia: The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) wants to inform the public that it has not released any official statements regarding the details of ongoing investigations. Any reports or claims circulating on social media or other platforms that do not come from the Commission should be regarded as false and misleading.

We urge the public to avoid spreading unverified information, as this can compromise investigations and mislead citizens. The Commission is committed to transparency and will provide official updates in accordance with the law.

We must emphasize that, according to Section 10.9 of the LACC Act of 2022, the Commission is prohibited from sharing preliminary details or findings of any ongoing investigation. Information will be released to the public only once there has been an indictment by a grand jury.

While we understand the public's desire for updates, we want to reassure everyone that the LACC is dedicated to conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
