"I Did Not Deserve It" - Bellingham on His Match MVP vs. Ghana

USA: England and Real Madrid's star Jude Bellingham condemned his Man of the Match award on Tuesday night in their goalless draw against Ghana in the FIFA World Cup.

Bellingham insisted “ I did not deserve” to be named Man of the Match against Ghana, noting the honor would have been best suited for a Ghanaian player.

England failed to get a breakthrough against their Group L opponents despite having 19 attempts and 78 per cent of the ball.

Bellingham, 22, was subbed off for Morgan Rogers with 20 minutes to play. He accounted for zero key passes and 1 shot in the match.

The English man hailed the Ghanaian defense, and said its composure prevented the Three Lions from getting a goal.

He suggested that from a brilliant defence, the award was fairly to go to a Ghanaian defender.

"It probably should have gone to one of their lads who defended so well. I had a couple of moments but it was hard to get into the game".

“I’m grateful for whoever voted, but it probably should have gone to one of their lads who defended so well", Jude Bellingham added.

Meanwhile, England tops Group L with four points from two matches. They are tied on points with Ghana who occupies the second place, but tops with goals advantage.

However, Croatia sits in the 3rd place with 3 points, while Pamana lies in the bottom with 0 points.
