LDEA Arrests Two British Nationals with LRD 21.5M Worth of Cocaine and Marijuana

Monrovia, Liberia: The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested two British nationals following a major drug bust carried out on December 11, 2025 at about 5:00 PM. According to the LDEA, the suspects  Zion Sufren, 25, and Joshua Ayopo Andrews, 28 were arrested in the Baptist Seminary community along the RIA Highway. The operation was conducted under a search and seizure warrant as part of the ongoing nationwide anti-drug campaign, Operation “Clean Wave,” led by ACP Patrick Kormazu, the LDEA Deputy OIC for Operations. During the raid, officers confiscated a significant quantity of illegal substances, including:

  • 2.1 kilograms of cocaine, valued at USD 113,400 and LRD 21,546,000
  • 2.1 grams of Lawo (marijuana) valued at USD 20.10 and LRD 3,819. This brings the total value of the seized drugs to LRD 21,549,819 and USD 113,420.10. In addition to the narcotics, the LDEA also recovered:

  • USD 3,000 in cash
  • 50 Euros
  • 40 pieces of European coins

The agency confirmed that both suspects are in custody for illegal possession of narcotics and are currently under investigation. They will be forwarded to court in accordance with Liberian law.
