LNP Investigates Alarming Attacks on Motorcyclists and Ongoing Capitol Building Fire Case

Monrovia Liberia: The Liberia National Police (LNP) has expressed concern over a series of recent attacks on motorcyclists, describing the incidents as alarming. Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman confirmed that multiple cases of violent assaults on cyclists have been reported across various counties in the country.

The IG highlighted a particularly disturbing case at the 72nd Junction, where two individuals, believed to be thieves, were mobbed and stoned to death. Coleman condemned the attack, calling it "barbaric," and urged citizens to stop taking justice into their own hands through mob violence. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.

In a separate case, Coleman provided new details about a recent death at a humanitarian home on 9th Street. The deceased, who had reportedly purchased a cleaning substance from a local supermarket, was found unresponsive in the bathroom after screaming for help. Security personnel rushed to the scene but found the individual, Mr. Futoo, already lying unconscious. Police investigations are continuing, with more findings expected to be revealed.

Additionally, the LNP is working with international investigators to solve the recent Capitol Building fire. The Inspector General confirmed that several prominent individuals are being investigated but declined to name them at this time. More details will be disclosed as the investigation progresses.
