MVTC Shake-Up: Director, Finance, Admissions Heads Suspended
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has suspended three senior officials at the Monrovia Vocational Training Center amid an ongoing investigation, with acting leaders appointed to maintain operations.
Monrovia, Liberia: The Ministry of Youth and Sports has suspended three senior officials at the Monrovia Vocational Training Center (MVTC) as an internal investigation gets underway.
In a statement released on April 6, 2026, in Paynesville, the Ministry confirmed that MVTC Director Wilfred Payne, Finance Officer Hamilton Faryah, and Admissions Officer Kenneh Lawson have all been placed on suspension.
Authorities say the decision is meant to create space for a full and independent probe, which is expected to run for about one month.
To prevent disruptions at the institution, the Ministry has named interim leadership. Alieu Kemokai will serve as Acting Director General for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), while Cyrus Zizi takes over as Acting Director of MVTC. Kaema Jones has also been appointed Acting Administrator.
The Ministry says the move is part of efforts to uphold transparency, strengthen accountability, and ensure the proper delivery of vocational education services across the country.
