Neymar Jr. Heads Back to Childhood Club After Parting Ways with Al-Hila
Brazilian Star Neymar Jr is on the verge of completing negotiations to rejoin his childhood club, Stantos, following a mutual termination of his contract with Suadi Pro League side, Al-Hila, on Monday, January 27, 2025.
The 32-year-old Brazil international suffered lacked of playing time with Al-Hila admist injury setbacks. Neymar da Silva Santos Junior was able to play only seven games since joining Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023 in a deal worth up to £86m euros.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player scored once and assisted twice for Al-Hila in seven appearances. He got sidelined in October 2023 due to an ACL injury which led him out of the squad that won the last season’s Saudi league.
About seven months remaining on his 2 years contract, Al-Hila in a statement on Monday, January 27, announced: "The club expresses its thanks and appreciation to Neymar for what he has provided at Al-Hilal, and wish the player success in his career," as it signs off mutually with the popular Brazilian Star.
following his contract termination, Chicago Fire, a Major League Soccer Club in the USA attempted for Neymar Jr but he turned down the offer in favour of returning to Santos, in his homeland, Brazil, where he began his professional football career. Neymar Jr took a move from Santos to Barcelona in 2013, and later began the most expensive transfer player in landmark deal for 222m euros from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
According to reports, the hailed international footballer has left Suadi Arabia for Brazil as talks between him and Santos are progressing for a short-term deal. The negotiations when completed in the short while while see Neymar Jr back to his root.
