“No Child Should Be Denied Education” — Rep. Jones Invests In 188 Students with Scholarships

MONROVIA, LIBERIA: Margibi County District #2 Representative Ivar K. Jones has on Friday, January 16, 2026 awarded scholarship certificates and official payment receipts to 188 students across the district, reinforcing his steadfast belief that education is the cornerstone of individual and community progress.

‎The ceremony, held at Rep. Jones’ Cotton Tree Office in Mboo Statutory District, brought together students, parents, educators, and community leaders, all gathered to witness a toward educational equity in the county.

‎“Education is the most powerful tool for transforming lives and communities, and no child should be denied access to it,” Rep. Jones said, framing the scholarship program as a deliberate investment in Margibi’s future rather than a one-off gesture.

‎Since its launch in 2016, the scholarship initiative has consistently supported students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that financial hardship does not block academic potential.

‎“This program is a sustained commitment to our children. Every student deserves a chance to succeed, and we will continue to make that possible,” the lawmaker emphasized.

‎Rep. Jones further highlighted the essential roles parents and educators play in complementing government efforts. “Support from lawmakers is vital, but it is not enough. Parents and teachers must dedicate themselves to nurturing both the academic and moral development of our children,” he asserted, calling for a collective effort in building the county’s next generation of leaders.

‎Following the presentation, the spotlight shifted to parents who shared heartfelt reflections, emphasizing the tangible relief and hope the program brings to their households. One parent described the scholarships as “a huge relief for families struggling every year to meet school fees,” while another remarked, “This support is life-changing and timely; it ensures our children can stay in school and focus on their studies without worry.”

‎Implemented under the banner of Progressive Friends of Ivar Jones (PROFIJ), the program reflects a broader vision for community development, youth empowerment, and long-term societal growth.

‎“PROFIJ exists to uplift our people and invest in the future of Margibi County,” Rep. Jones said, highlighting the initiative’s strategic importance beyond immediate financial support.

‎The Margibi Lawmaker further reaffirmed his dedication to sustaining the scholarships. “As long as I am able, I will continue to support educational opportunities for our young people, because investing in education is investing in a stronger, more prosperous society,” he pledged.
