Tragedy Strikes Peachuzohn Community as Five-Bedroom Home Burns to Ashes in Buchanan

BUCHANAN, Grand Bassa: A devastating fire swept through the Peachuzohn Community in Buchanan on Monday afternoon, completely destroying a five-bedroom dirt brick house and leaving several families homeless.

‎Residents say the blaze started unexpectedly and spread rapidly, engulfing the structure within minutes. By the time the flames subsided, the house had been reduced to rubble. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

‎Among those hardest hit is Felecia James, a renter in the home, who described the incident as heartbreaking and overwhelming.
‎I don’t know how the fire started, Madam James told reporters at the scene. Everything I worked for is gone.

‎A widow and mother of five, Madam James earns her livelihood by selling cooked food. She revealed that all the food supplies and ingredients she had recently purchased for her business were destroyed in the blaze.

‎In addition to losing her business inventory, she said more than 20,000 Liberian Dollars she had saved and kept in her room were consumed by the flames. Clothing, household items, and important personal belongings were also lost.

‎Other renters occupying the five-bedroom home suffered similar losses, with properties and valuables completely destroyed. The fire has left multiple families displaced, facing an uncertain future.

‎With no clear cause yet identified, residents of the Peachuzohn Community are rallying around the affected families and calling for urgent support.

‎Madam James is now appealing to humanitarian organizations, community leaders, and well-meaning individuals for assistance as she seeks to rebuild her life and provide for her children.

‎As the community grapples with the aftermath of the tragedy, the focus remains on helping the displaced families recover from the devastating loss.
