Deadly Dispute Over a Button Phone Ends in Tragedy as 22-Year-Old Dies, Suspect Flees
Paynesville, Liberia:A 22-year-old man, identified as Pewee G. Mulbah, has died following an alleged assault in the 12th Houses Community, with the Liberia National Police searching for a suspect who reportedly fled after the incident.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2026. According to information available, the suspect, Aaron Dolo, popularly known as "Tago," allegedly became involved in a confrontation with Mulbah over claims that the victim had taken a button phone belonging to Dolo's girlfriend.
Reports indicate that the confrontation escalated, during which Dolo allegedly struck Mulbah with a bottle. The victim reportedly sustained serious injuries and later died as a result of the attack.
Following confirmation of Mulbah's death, the suspect is said to have fled the area. His current whereabouts remain unknown, and the Liberia National Police has launched efforts to locate and arrest him.
Community leaders are appealing to members of the public to cooperate with law enforcement by providing any credible information that could lead to the suspect's arrest. Anyone with knowledge of Aaron Dolo's whereabouts is urged to report it to the nearest police station or notify local community authorities.
Residents have also been urged to remain peaceful and refrain from taking the law into their own hands while the police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
