''Do Not Follow the Path of Past leaders" David Flomo Caution Pres. Boakai

 Monrovia: A Liberian citizen based in the United States and a staunch supporter of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has cautioned the newly elected President not to walk in the path of past leaders. 

Mr. David Flomo believes President Boakai is poised to do well but must be careful not to repeat the mistakes of his predecessors.

Boakai, 79 was elected as the 26th President in the November 14 runoff election last year after defeating his closest rival, then incumbent George M. Weah. 

Flomo, who has been a vocal supporter of President Boakai since his campaign days, said the new Liberian leader must prioritize the needs of the ordinary people above his personal interests, stressing the need for transparency in the Unity Party government.

"President Boakai has a great opportunity and vision to make a positive impact on the country and its people and by that, he must be careful not to fall into the same traps that previous leaders have fallen into.”

He urged the 26th President to focus on improving the country's infrastructure, healthcare, and education sectors highlighting its critical role in developing the Nation.

‘’ These sectors cannot function properly without adequate funding" Flomo added.

David Flomo who is known for his activism and advocacy work, has been a vocal critic of past governments believing that corruption, nepotism, and lack of accountability are major obstacles that hinder many nation progress including Liberia.

The Bong native further stated that he is committed to helping the country and its people in whatever way he can.

Many supporters and sympathizers are hopeful that the UP administration will bring positive change to the country and improve the lives of its people while there are also wishes by opposition that he may fall into similar traps as previous leaders.

In his inaugural address to the nation Monday January 22, 2024 in Monrovia, the Liberian leader pledged the country's commitment to respecting, partnering and collaborating with investors for the forward match of the country believing; partnering and working along with other international investors will help his government put the country on the right trajectory.
