“Focus on the citizens, avoid enriching yourselves’’ LAS boss professes.
Monrovia: The Founder and Executive Director of the Liberia Albino Society, Madam Patricia Logan has asserted that Liberia presidents’ reelection mission usually fails because they serve themselves instead of the citizens.
The latest assertion of Madam Logan comes a few weeks after President George Manneh Weah lost the November 14, 2023 presidential runoff election to former Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai with a margin of over 20,000 votes.
Probably, the statement is also in response to the defeat of several members, including House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers of the 54th Legislature during the October 10, 2023 presidential and legislative elections across the country.
Addressing hundreds of Liberians at the birth celebration of her 50th birthday over the weekend held at her Caldwell Residence, Madam Logan stressed that many of Liberian leaders are noted for dashing the hopes of the ordinary upon taking power.
‘’It is important that leaders forget about enriching themselves and wholeheartedly serve their people especially when they are called to serve’’ she emphasized.
The tough-talking stateswoman maintained that a clean character calls for leading with accountability, sincerity and integrity is universally respected than a pretentious courtesy accorded a leader due to ill-gotten wealth while in service.
“I therefore reaffirm my continuous support to providing the needed services to her neighbors, family members, the community, the underprivileged and the country’’.
