For Ignoring His Function, Chief of Public Relations Resigns from LDEA

By: William McGill

Fiamah: The Chief of communications and Public affairs at the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), has tendered his resignation with immediate effect. Citing a misalignment between his professional experience and the agency's vision, Michael W. Jipply, expressed his decision in a communication addressed to Director Abraham Kromah of the LDEA.

"For nearly seven years, I have served as the spokesperson of the LDEA, yet recent developments have made it clear that my abilities and insights do not coincide with the direction the agency is headed," Jipply stated in his resignation letter.

Below is copy of His Letter of Resignation:

Throughout his tenure, Jipply emphasized the importance of his role in advancing the agenda of the LDEA. However, he lamented a lack of acknowledgment and respect for his contributions, leading to an untenable working environment.

"As a professional in the field of Public Relations, I cannot continue to work under conditions where my opinions are disregarded and my expertise is undervalued," he asserted.

According to the letter address to the LDEA Director, Jipply's decision was due to Director Kromah marginalizing the role of the PRO office within the agency.

He further that such actions has rendered his position "irrelevant and insignificant." In light of this, he deemed it appropriate to step down to facilitate the smooth implementation of the agency's objectives.

The communication, obtained by K-News, also highlighted Jipply's extensive background within the LDEA at which he completed an intensive Basic Police Science Training Course at the Liberia National Police Training Academy in Paynesville in 2016.

In response to inquiries about Jipply's resignation, the LDEA is yet to issue a statement.
