House to Convene Special Session Tuesday on Pres. Boakai Proclamation

Capitol Hill: The Honorable House of Representatives- HOR, is expected to convene Tuesday, April 2, 2024 for a Special Session.

It followed a proclamation by President Joseph Boakai, recalling the legislature to a Special Session in line with article 32(b) of the Liberian constitution.

A statement issued by the House' Press Bureau says, the special session will last for a period of 30 days commencing April 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024.

The 55th Legislature, (House and Senate ) whilst in session, will deliberate and take action on issues of national emergency and importance, including the FY 2024 draft National budget, among other critical matters.

It can be recalled, the 55th Legislature adjourned on Thursday, March 14, 2024 and was due to resume May 10, 2024, a period covering the first constituency break.
