Monrovia, Liberia: Liberian football fans are mourning the death of Jessie Francis, a promising young talent from First Division club Down Town FC, following a tragic motor accident.

The club confirmed the player's passing early Sunday at JFK Medical Center in Monrovia.

Francis last played for Downtown FC on Thursday, March 26, when they defeated FC Fassell 1-0 in the Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division League.

Before joining Downtown, Francis played for FC Fassell, Jubilee FC, Gardnersville FC, and LISCR FC, earning recognition for his skill and attacking ability.

The talented winger was part of the FC Fassell squad that won the 2024/2025 LFA First Division League title.
