Mighty Barrolle Nears 4th LBA Championship After Two Wins in Finals

Paynesville: Mighty Barrolle has moved closer to securing their fourth Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) First Division Championship after winning two consecutive matches in the 2024 National Basketball First Division Championship Grand Final against Cestos Mogars.

The Rollers dominated Game 1 with an 88-62 victory, followed by another strong performance in Game 2, securing a 70-57 win. Barrolle now needs just one more victory in the best-of-five series to clinch their fourth championship title.

The defending champions will face Cestos Mogars in Game 3 on Saturday, September 21, which could be the deciding match. A win for Cestos Mogars would extend the series to Game 4, while a win for Barrolle would secure the championship. Both teams need three victories in the series to be crowned champions.

Mighty Barrolle, winners of three consecutive LBA First Division Championships, are aiming for their fourth title, while Cestos Mogars are making their first appearance in the finals and fighting for their first championship.

In the Second Division Grand Final, Spartacus has taken a commanding lead over Highway Kings after winning both opening games. Spartacus secured a narrow 60-59 win in Game 1, followed by a 62-59 victory in Game 2, bringing them closer to the title.

Meanwhile, in the women’s division, Commissioners tied the series with Invincible Eleven after a dominant performance in Game 2. Invincible Eleven won Game 1 with a 57-51 victory, but Commissioners bounced back in Game 2 with a 53-32 win, continuing the best-of-five series.
