Ministry of Transport Announces New Transportation Fares.
Liberia Monrovia: Ministry of Transport in Liberia has announced new transportation fares for Monrovia and nearby areas.
This change follows a July 3, 2014, directive from the Commerce Ministry and the Liberian Petroleum Refining Company about lower fuel prices.
At a press conference, Transport Minister Sirleaf Tyler said they are working with the Liberian National Police to make sure everyone follows the new fares.

Minister Tyler warned taxi drivers and kekeh riders not to ignore the new fare rules. The new fares are meant to reflect lower costs for transport operators and ensure fair prices for passengers.
The Ministry is collaborating with transport and motorcycle unions to set these new fares based on current market conditions. Discussions are ongoing to finalize new fares for commercial motorcycles. The updated motorcycle fares will be announced soon.
The Ministry emphasizes that all operators must follow the new fares. Any violations should be reported to the Liberia National Police.
