To Elevate Liberia's Tourism Prospects, Pres. Boakai Commits to Establishing National Tourism Authority

As long anticipated by citizens during previous administrations, Liberia's 26th President, Joseph Nyuma Boakai, has pledged to champion a legislative bill aimed at establishing National Tourism Authority (NTA), signaling a significant commitment to the country's tourism development drive.

During his first State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Boakai highlighted the necessity to separate Culture and Tourism from the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism.

He stated that the proposed National Tourism bill has been submitted to the Legislature, with an initial public hearing conducted, expressing his dedication to collaborate with the 55th legislature to ensure the bill is passed into law.

“We will work with the Legislature on the status of this bill pending necessary actions to complete this process. Once passed, Liberia will have a National Tourism Authority mandated to draw up regulations and the appropriate governing framework for the tourism sector he stated”.
