Fatal Highway Collision in Nimba Leaves Two Dead, Multiple Injured
Nimba County, Liberia: A deadly traffic accident along the Nengbein–Kpein Highway in Nimba County has claimed the lives of two individuals and left several others seriously injured.
The incident occurred late Wednesday night, March 18, near Kogar’s Farm, when a red pickup truck collided with a vehicle belonging to the Executive Protection Service (EPS), reportedly part of Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung’s convoy.
Authorities confirmed that the victims 66-year-old Anna Behyee and pickup driver Joe Bantu, both residents of Tappita were pronounced dead after being rushed to a nearby health facility.
Three individuals, including a pregnant woman, sustained critical injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. Other passengers involved in the crash reportedly escaped without serious harm.
Officials also disclosed that occupants of the EPS vehicle were treated for injuries, though specific details about their condition have not yet been made public.
An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
