“I Dreamed of Barça Since Age 3” Anthony Gordon Completes Stunning Barcelona Move in Emotional Football Fairytale

Barcelona, Spain:English winger Anthony Gordon has revealed that his move to FC Barcelona is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream he has carried since childhood, admitting he has wanted to wear the famous Blaugrana shirt since the age of three. The emotional revelation comes just as the Spanish giants completed a massive deal to sign the former Newcastle United F.C. star in one of the biggest transfers of the summer. 

Speaking after the completion of his reported £69.3 million move, Gordon disclosed that his admiration for Barcelona started during his early childhood years and even inspired him to learn Spanish long before any formal contact with the Catalan club emerged. 

“I have wanted to play for Barcelona since I was 3 years old. I wanted to speak Spanish because as a kid I believed I would play for Barça,” Gordon said while reflecting on the journey that eventually led him to the Camp Nou.

The England international further explained that he intentionally practiced Spanish during his time at Newcastle, using conversations with a Spanish physiotherapist as preparation for the dream move he always believed would eventually happen.

“I had a physio at Newcastle who was Spanish and we spoke Spanish every day. I told him I wanted to play for Barça one day, that’s why I speak some Spanish,” Gordon added.

Barcelona’s acquisition of Gordon has already generated massive reactions across European football, especially after reports indicated that German champions FC Bayern Munich were also strongly pursuing the winger before losing out to the Spanish champions. 

The transfer marks another major statement by Barcelona despite ongoing financial concerns surrounding the club. Reports indicate the La Liga champions moved aggressively to secure Gordon’s signature after being impressed by his explosive pace, pressing ability, versatility and Champions League performances with Newcastle. 

During his spell with Newcastle, Gordon developed into one of the Premier League’s most dangerous attackers, scoring crucial goals and helping the club compete in Europe. His performances reportedly convinced Barcelona manager Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco that he could become a key figure in the club’s new attacking project alongside young stars like Lamine Yamal.
