Liberia Elections: NEC Announces Runoff in District #9 Nimba County
MONROVIA: The National Election Commission (NEC) through its Chairperson Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah has announced a runoff to be held at polling place 4, precinct code 33090 in Nimba County District #9.
Speaking at the commencement of its regular election press briefing on Friday, the NEC Boss attributed the move to conduct a runoff in the area to the number of valid votes of 379 exceeding the number of registered voters 329, with a difference of 50 votes.
"There will be a runoff in one polling place in electoral district #9 in Nimba County at the Varmie Elementary and Junior High School precinct code 33090, polling place #4," Madam Lansannah said.
She added: "This is due to the number of valid votes 379 exceeding the number of registered voters 329, with a difference of 50 votes."
The latest move brings to two the number of reruns to be conducted by NEC since the commencement of Liberia's general election. The first was in electoral district #4 Nimba County.
