President Boakaiโs Daughter Marlee to Be Inducted as Liberia Global Handball Ambassador
Monrovia, Liberia: Marlee Boakai, daughter of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, is expected to be inducted as Liberia Global Handball Ambassador on Sunday, July 12, 2026, during a ceremony in Paynesville.
The Liberia National Handball Association (LNHA), headed by its President, Aratus Larkpor, said the appointment forms part of its campaign to encourage greater female participation in sports, particularly handball, while advancing support for youth development across the country.
According to the association, Marlee Boakai was also a member of Liberiaโs delegation to the 2026 International Handball Federation (IHF) Youth Championship Qualifiers held in Lomรฉ, Togo.
The LNHA said the induction ceremony is expected to attract senior government officials, representatives of the private sector, and members of the sporting community. Officials of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) are expected to attend in support of youth sports initiatives.
The association also announced that ABK Motors will lead the private sector delegation, alongside other stakeholders, community leaders, and sports supporters who are expected to witness the ceremony. The LNHA described the event as an important milestone in its efforts to promote handball and expand opportunities for young athletes across Liberia.
