Senators divided over the confirmation of Prince C Johnson lll

Capitol Hill: Following the protestation of several ladies believe to be wives and active duty military solideres of the Arm Forces of Liberia, 12 Senators out 23 Senators have confirmed former Arm Forces of Liberia Chief of Staff Prince Charles Johnson lll, retired as Minister of National Defense.

Johnson has been accused for massive corruption, ranging from alleged eaten of soldiers money from Mail among others.

Our reporter covering the Liberian senate said the confirmation met a stave resistance from some Senators, leadig to a premature recess announced by the president of the Liberian senate and Vice President Jeremiah Koung.

 Our reporter observe that the President of the Senate and Vice President Jeremiah Koung and Senate Pro-Tempore Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence visited President Joseph Nyumah Boakai office, something many believe is the reason behind the decision of the Senate.

Our reporter further observe for the first time, newly inducted President Pro-Tempore Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence was seen instructing the Sergeant at Arms to visit all offices of the Senators and a report back on who was present or absent.

They are expected to serve in their respective capacities beginning Monday, February 12, 2024 during the observance of the Armed Forces Day
