BREAKING: U.S. Denies Visas to Majority of Liberia’s Lone Star Delegation

Liberia’s planned international friendly against Minnesota United II is in doubt after the United States denied visas to most members of the Lone Star delegation.

The match was scheduled for July 26 in the U.S. as part of Liberia’s 179th Independence Day celebrations.

According to the Liberia Football Association (LFA), six of the 10 delegation members who attended visa interviews on Tuesday were denied visas. LFA Second Vice President Sekou Konneh was the only official confirmed to have received a visa.

The LFA has confirmed the visa denials, while reports indicate the match is now expected to be canceled. The U.S. Embassy has not publicly commented on the visa decisions.
