FC Fassell Secure UEFA Pro Licence Coach Vicente Parras for 2026/27 Season

Liberia:Former Liberian First Division champions FC Fassell have appointed experienced Spanish coach Vicente Parras as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 football season. The UEFA Pro Licence holder is expected to arrive in Liberia soon to begin his new role with the Soccer Missionaries as the club prepares for another competitive domestic campaign.

Parras arrives with more than three decades of coaching experience. The 50-year-old Spaniard began his coaching journey at just 16 years old before rising through the ranks of Spanish football. He has managed clubs including Elche CF, Ontinyent, CD Alcoyano and most recently CD Teruel, earning a reputation for developing young players and building tactically disciplined teams.

One of the biggest achievements of his career came during his five-year spell at CD Alcoyano, where he led the club to successive promotions and established it as a competitive side in Spain's Primera Federación. His tactical discipline and organized style of play have been widely recognized throughout his coaching career.

The appointment represents another major statement of intent by FC Fassell, who continue to invest in experienced foreign coaches as they seek to remain among Liberia's top football clubs. Club officials believe Parras' European experience will strengthen the team's technical direction ahead of the new season.

Parras takes over from Italian coach Fabio Lopez, who previously led the club during its CAF Champions League campaign after replacing Liberian coach Matthew Jaluteh. Under Lopez, Fassell gained valuable continental experience despite being eliminated in the competition.

Founded in 2009, FC Fassell has rapidly developed into one of Liberia's most ambitious football clubs. Nicknamed the Soccer Missionaries, the club won the Liberian Cup and Second Division title in 2014 before capturing its historic first Liberian First Division championship during the 2024/25 season.

The club has consistently demonstrated its ambition by investing in quality players, experienced coaches and youth development. Its growing reputation has made FC Fassell one of the country's most competitive sides in recent years and a regular contender for major honors.

Supporters will now be hoping Vicente Parras can build on that foundation and guide the Soccer Missionaries back to the summit of Liberian football while making a stronger impact in continental competitions. His arrival is expected to usher in a new chapter as FC Fassell target success during the 2026/27 season.
