Sen.Johnny K. Kpehe donates medical supply following recent Tragedy
Sinkor,Monrovia: Bong County Senator elect, Johnny Kpehe, has donated several medical supplies to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, in Monrovia and Phebe referral hospital to begin the treatment of Bong citizens who sustained various wounds from Tuesday's Totota tanker explosion.
The donation of medical supplies by Senator elect, Kpehe, is in response to a request by both hospitals.
While presenting the materials, Hon. Kpehe extended his deepest condolences to families of citizens who lost their lives in the terrible tanker explosion on Tuesday December 26, 2023 in Totota lower Bong County.
The donation by Senator elect, Kpehe, comes less than 24 hours after the hospital had launched an appeal to the public for assistance.
Last weekend, the Bong County youthful Senator elect also donated another consignment of medical supplies to the hospital, worth over US100k.
The latest donation is aimed at strengthening the capacity of the hospital to accommodate victims of the Totota tanker explosion in which 40 have already been confirmed dead.
Senator elect Kpehe also singlehandedly made available three ambulances to transport victims from the incident scene to Phebe, JFK and ELWA hospitals respectively.
The donation of the medical supplies by Senator elect, Kpehe, is a significant gesture of goodwill towards the both hospitals in order to properly respond to the fire incident.
Prior to the senator's donation, Phebe Hospital said they were Overwhelmed by Influx of Patients Following the Gasoline Tanker Explosion as the medical facility struggles with Limited Supplies and Resources.
The hospital management headed by Dr. Mini Sankowulo Ricks requested an urgent supply of essential medical items such as bandages, antibiotics, painkillers, and burn dressings, additionally, the hospital requires fuel oil to ensure the ambulances can continue to transport patients safely and efficiently.
The explosion, which occurred on Tuesday, claimed the lives of several citizens and left many others with various degrees of injuries.
The supplies include bandages, antibiotics, painkillers, and other medical equipment.
In addition to the donation of the medical supplies, Senator elect, Kpehe, has also called on the government to take urgent action to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
The Senator has urged the government to put in place measures to ensure that the transportation of hazardous materials is done in a safe and secure manner.
The Bong County Senator elect has also called on the government to provide support to the families of the victims of the Totota tanker explosion. The Bong County Senator elect has pledged to work with the government and other stakeholders to ensure that the families of the victims receive the support they need during this difficult time.
The Senator elect Johnny K Kpehe has also shown that he is not only concerned about the welfare of the people but is also willing to take action to address the challenges facing the people.
Also speaking some citizens of Bong County have expressed their gratitude to Senator elect, Kpehe, for his timely intervention and for his commitment to improving the lives of the people. The Bong County citizens have called on other leaders to emulate the example set by Senator elect, Kpehe, and to work towards improving the lives of the people they represent.
In separate remakes, the management of Phebe and JFK hospitals thanked Mr. Johnny K. Kpehe for the donation and promises to use it for the intended purpose.
